Surabaya - To support the continuous improvement of performance monitoring systems across Universitas Airlangga, the university conducted a series of socialization and mentoring sessions for EDGE-SPMS, an advanced version of the existing SPMS application. The first session took place on March 25, 2025, followed by targeted mentoring sessions on April 11, 2025.
The March 25 socialization event was attended by representatives from all study programs, departments, faculties, and work units within Universitas Airlangga. The session aimed to introduce EDGE-SPMS, an enhanced system designed for collecting and monitoring performance data university-wide. This application is the result of a collaboration between the Planning and Development Agency (BPP), Satu Data, and the Directorate of Information Systems and Digitalization (DSID).
EDGE-SPMS brings several notable improvements to its predecessor. The most significant upgrade is the machine-to-machine data integration capability that enables automatic performance data retrieval from databases already managed by Satu Data. This functionality is expected to significantly simplify the reporting process for each academic and administrative unit by synchronizing their existing data directly into the system through each data inlet.
The event was officially opened with a welcome speech by Dr. Dian Ekowati, Chairperson of BPP. She elaborated on the system enhancements and the urgency behind the transformation, highlighting how EDGE-SPMS differs from the previous version. Following her remarks, Dr. Unggul Heriqbaldi, Chairperson of Satu Data, emphasized the importance of the new data synchronization feature and how it eases performance reporting tasks across the university.
The socialization continued with technical presentations from both BPP and Satu Data teams. Yessinda Oktaria, S.M., from BPP, delivered a comprehensive explanation of how to use the new system. Meanwhile, Christiant Dimas Renggana, S.Kom., from the Satu Data team, provided a walkthrough of the data extraction mechanisms and the respective data sources involved in the integration.
The session concluded with a Q&A segment, which sparked active engagement and received a generally positive response from participants.
To provide further assistance, mentoring sessions were held on April 11, 2025, specifically requested by several faculties, including the Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and the Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidisciplinary Sciences. These sessions aimed to give more focused guidance on system usage and ensure each unit can effectively adapt to and benefit from EDGE-SPMS.
The successful implementation of EDGE-SPMS is expected to boost performance monitoring efficiency and support data-driven decision-making throughout Universitas Airlangga.
