Surabaya, East Java – Universitas Airlangga (Unair) recently held another training program on the development of its AI ChatBot, conducted over two days in September. The technical workshop once again featured Muhajir Akbar Hasibuan, S.Stat., Senior AI/ML Engineer at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison as the AI-related experts. This workshop session introduced new material and provided student developers and interns with opportunities to engage in expert-driven discussions to strengthen the success of the final product.
The first day of training (16/09) was dedicated to reviewing the existing ChatBot prototype. This stage ensured that training data was standardized and consistent across different domains. Moreover, the review process validated whether the model could handle user queries effectively, delivering responses that were not only accurate but also comprehensive, fast, and robust against potential errors. The dataset used for development was carefully aligned with the needs of Universitas Airlangga’s stakeholders to support its intended functionality within the academic community. On the second day (17/09), the workshop continued with further reviews, focusing on solutions to the technical challenges of cross-domain data integration. These discussions produced practical insights to refine the model’s ability to manage diverse information sources.
The series of technical workshops was designed to prepare the product to meet Minimum Viable Product (MVP) standards. Such standards exist to ensure that the ChatBot is both functional and ready for real-world use. Beyond keeping pace with rapid technological developments, this initiative underscores Universitas Airlangga’s commitment to advancing digital intelligence as a means of improving institutional processes and supporting the broader academic ecosystem.
